For 17 days, the LA County Fair brings a slice of country wonder to the big city, with livestock shows, cow and goat milking, animal petting, a butterfly garden, and much more. Attendees strolling through the sprawling Fairplex in Pomona will be tempted by the latest in fair rides such as the popular 3D Scare at the Fair, carnival booths with kitschy stuffed animal prizes, and a Winter Wonderland complete with snow, a light show, and ice skating.

All of the great attractions are too numerous to enjoy in just one day. There are also concerts to catch, elephant ears to consume, horse shows and pig races to see, and live history demonstrations to partake in, such as the High Flying Fun, which explores the Wright Brothers' first successful flight.

The fair comes to town in early September, and is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Shuttle services run from Union Station to the Yellow Gate pedestrian entrance, while the Metrolink train runs from Union Station to Fairplex Station for easy accessibility.
