Easter Sunrise at the Hollywood Bowl - Los Angeles Hotels .com
Before dawn on the brink of Easter Sunday, thousands of people head to
Hollywood to watch the sunrise
and enjoy the music, prayers, and pageantry of the Hollywood Bowl
Easter Sunrise Service. The natural dell in which the Hollywood Bowl
amphitheater is built is famous for its acoustics, and the surrounding
trees make a stunning backdrop for the lilies, doves, choir
choreography, and orchestral performances.
The Hollywood Easter Sunrise Service tradition dates back more
than 85 years, and after a few years of amphitheater renovation has
happily returned to its original Hollywood Bowl home. The Hollywood
Bowl is located at 2301 N. Highland Ave., and the event and parking are
free. The service is nondenominational Christian and open to all. The
gates open at 3:30 a.m. and the service runs from 5:30 to 7 a.m.
