Pedestrians might want to dodge the hot flying hot dogs (or else open wide), but it is impossible to stifle laughter at this zany parade, which begins promptly at 11:30 a.m. at Old Town Pasadena (on Raymond and Colorado streets).
Kitschy and flamboyant, the annual Pasadena Doo Dah Parade is the Three Stooges of holiday parades. This slap-happy parade was created in response to the more traditional (and formal) Rose Parade that annually marches through the streets of Pasadena, and has moved its date from pre-Thanksgiving November to early January to coincide more closely with its rosy inspiration. The parade is free, but donations are graciously accepted.
