Although the Doo Dah Parade has been around for 30-plus years, it doesn't take itself seriously: Participants include the Shopping Cart Drill Team, the BBQ & Hibachi Marching Grill Team, the Men of Leisure Synchronized Nap Team -- who can't stand to nap anywhere near the loud stomps of the Marching Lumberjacks -- and the ridiculous 20-Man Memorial Invisible Man Marching Drill Team.

Pedestrians might want to dodge the hot flying hot dogs (or else open wide), but it is impossible to stifle laughter at this zany parade, which begins promptly at 11:30 a.m. at Old Town Pasadena (on Raymond and Colorado streets).

Kitschy and flamboyant, the annual Pasadena Doo Dah Parade is the Three Stooges of holiday parades. This slap-happy parade was created in response to the more traditional (and formal) Rose Parade that annually marches through the streets of Pasadena, and has moved its date from pre-Thanksgiving November to early January to coincide more closely with its rosy inspiration. The parade is free, but donations are graciously accepted.
