California Poppy Festival - Los Angeles Hotels .com

Every spring California bursts into orange California poppy blooms, and for two days in April residents and visitors gather to celebrate this state flower and herald of the season. The California Poppy Festival takes place in Lancaster City Park in the Antelope Valley -- about an hour north of Downtown Los Angeles.

The festival features an abundant flower and plant market, food vendors, over 200 artist and artisan booths, and many hands-on art opportunities for the whole family. Plus, the four entertainment stages offer interactive children's theater, international music and dance performances, and live animal demonstrations.

The weekend-long festival takes place rain or shine from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily. Tickets can be purchased at the event: $7 adults, $4 kids and seniors, and free for children under 5; parking is free.
