The park features a lovely, seven-acre rose garden, but its main draw is its cultural institutions. For a day of science exploration, take the family to the Natural History Museum of LA County, where you can marvel at enormous dinosaur skeletons and specimens of hundreds of animals from around the world.
Then head to the California Science Center; it offers free admission to its permanent exhibits, where the kids will have loads of fun exploring hands-on installations that teach about everything from microscopic cells to outer space. The Science Center also features an IMAX Theater, and tickets are available for purchase.
Also located at Exhibition Park is the California African American Museum. This small but important museum combines art and history, showcasing work by African American artists spanning the twentieth century and offering educational exhibits and seminars on centuries of African American experience.
