Museum of Tolerance
A world apart from the glitz and Hollywood glamour of Los Angeles, the Museum of Tolerance offers a deep, thought-provoking experience. It's a unique museum dedicated not to concrete artifacts of the past, but to highlighting human rights issues of the present day.

The museum grew out of the Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies, and a permanent, hour-long interactive exhibit is devoted to educating the public about the Holocaust. However, rotating exhibits throughout the year highlight other human rights issues around the world.

A recent exhibit included photography by photojournalist Marcus Bleasdales focusing on the corrupt gold trade in the Republic of Congo. Other events and exhibits have included testimony from former white supremacists, speakers on women's rights, and many more. The museum's Tolerancenter offers a high-tech, interactive exhibit to help visitors consider their own views on tolerance and what individuals can do to help protect human rights worldwide.

This one-of-a-kind museum is designed to be both eye-opening and inspiring. Since the subject matter can be pretty heavy, the MOT is recommended for visitors age 12 and older.
