But before heading to the world's most famous sidewalk, stop up to Grauman's Chinese Theatre (6925 Hollywood Blvd.) and see where the tradition began. Opened in 1927, it is a movie palace unlike any other. Millions are drawn to this theater every year and it is the most sought-after theater in Hollywood for studio premieres.

Don't worry about accidentally passing it by. This distinctive theater looms at 90 feet high with 40-foot walls and two huge "Heaven Dogs," brought from China to guard the entrance. Explore its famous entry court; it has hundreds of movie star signatures and hand/foot prints in the concrete.

Afterwards, head out to the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard. Each brass medallion pays homage to a famous personality in categories of radio, television, motion pictures, recording, and live performance.
