The City of Angels, La-La Land, Hollywood, LA -- whatever you call Los Angeles, there is no other place in the world like it. Here dreams are made into reality with a little help from special effects and editing. But there is so much to Los Angeles than hit sitcoms and blockbuster movies.

Los Angeles is home to approximately 13 million people, a majority of which are from all over of the United States and the world. The eclectic city has a wide variety of cultural groups that make the city a great place to visit. Different areas make up proper Los Angeles County, each one different from another. Downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood provide that urban city feel with a touch of Hollywood glamour, while Brentwood - Bel Air - Beverly Hills provide the glitz with enormous mansions and Rodeo Drive.

The nightlife is just as exciting. Dive bars on the strip are a stark contrast to the velvet rope clubs which can be found through out the city. Celebrities, wannabe-actors, fashionistas, musicians and the beautiful people mix together every night until the 2 a.m. closing time.

Sports is also a big part of the city's culture, with the NBA basketball team, the LA Lakers, attracting celebrity fans like Jack Nicholson and Leonardo DiCaprio, whom can be always found sitting near the sidelines. College football teams the UCLA Bruins and the USC Trojans have a fierce rivalry that culminates every year at the showdown dubbed the Victory Bell.

And don't forget to shop! While you might not be able to afford everything you see on Rodeo Drive, there are plenty of other shopping areas. Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood and the Fashion District are both great alternatives.

Last 3 tips about Los Angeles from our guests:

  • Srinivasan from CHENNAI,   IN was a guest at Four Points by Sheraton Los Angeles International Airport
A beautiful city with excellent connections from the airport to the heartland. Number of tour groups, individual cars are available for a variety of trips to the different tourist spots. Airport pick up and drop by coaches for groups of hotels are easily available and handling of baggage was attended to by the coach attendant with promptitude and courtesy.
  • Steve was a guest at The Belamar, a Larkspur Hotel
A nice array of restaurants and busy shops, gorgeous views and endless bike and walking paths.
  • Juan from Miami, FL, US was a guest at The Standard Downtown LA
Huge city! Make sure you know where you're going. We got lost a few times on our way to Santa Monica. Luckily most of the thing we did were right next to the hotel.
